[u]Shows that I remember from the 90’s[/u] [b]Fresh Prince of Bel-Air[/b]-“Now this is a story all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside down…and I’d like to take a minute just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air…” I loved this show. | 04.28.04 (11:38 pm) [edit] |
time: 11:24 pm mood: sleepy. the kind that makes ya just want to sleeeeep in in the morning. i think i may. music: KOHL'S commercial on tv
So today was fuunnn. I did another essay (...eehhh.. not so great.); another multiple choice (REALLY not so great...); and read half of Macbeth. Then! I took a nap. : ) Then! I went to fashion to pick up Fatimah, and we headed to Seaport. Boy, I love seaport. It's so...windy! And I wanted so much stuff. haha. But didn't buy anything. Then, we went and parked in Horton and walked around downtown. I seriously love this city. It's so beautiful. Downtown is just fabulous (Faabulous!) Fatimah and I saw some "cops in action" running to some steak house...and a different cop checked out my ass. Um, ew. Cause he was "old." We eventuall found a place to eat and went to "5th Quarter" and had really good artichoke dip (and I had really bad caesar salad). Then, we went to Horton and walked around for a good 2 hours and had a lot of fun. We went to Abercrombie and Fitch and American Eagle (cute guy working there..) where I got a shirt that is cute and then we went to Hot Topic where I got car-air fresheners. Whoo, they're fun. One says "Dork" one says "This air fresherner does not taste like chicken" the other says "I'm a pirate and this is my ship." ROCK ON. We also got Starbucks. Well, I didn't get coffee, but it was still Starbucks. What kind of name is that? Starbucks. hmm...the things I ponder...Where did it come from? What does it mean? The guy who worked there was incredibly amused that the whipped cream on my Strawberry and Creme blended looked like a star...mmkay. People amuse me. In a good way.
Then we headed back to fashion at about 8:30 for Fatimah to get her car and I came on home, blasting Now 14 and Schizophrenic. And then came home and ate some popcorn.
Tomorrow, I really want to sleep in. I'm gonna scrap that "essay" I had planned and just do a Multiple Choice and finish Macbeth, and start Waiting for Godot. Then we've got Kung Fu (THIRD STRIPE YEAH YEAH WHAT WHAT lol). Whoo, I'm tired and I've been told to get off the computer anyway. So, I should go. *nods* *MUAH* nighty nights, -Kelly

Singing for the Lonely
04.25.04 (4:47 pm) [edit]
time: 4:16 pm mood: full music: none
I love the Corvette Diner. My family and I went for lunch. Super fun. And lots of yummy food. I am SO full. Unbelievably full. I had a "Chilli Cheez" burger with fries, a vanilla coke, and a "Brown Cow" (Coke Float). Now I'm chewing on some Bazooka Joe. Tomorrow is the next mega group for kung fu. I hope I can polish some stuff up, cause on Tuesday we're trying (again) for our third stripe. Josh and I have been being sloppy...ehh..frustrating! But, part of it is my mind isn't there right now, and I'm super stressed over everything else. Economics...AP prep...*sighs*...the fact that I'm $350 in debt and have NO money at all...
So last night I got into this weird mood that I haven't fully gotten out of yet. A little depressed...just pondering things and (I guess) feeling sorry for myself. However, not all of the things I've been pondering are far (at all) from the truth.
One of the suckiest things is to be second choice. Out of all of my friends I can't think of one that I'm honestly, honest to God, first choice on. I have a couple that I'd choose first...and I know they wouldn't choose me. *shakes head* I can maybe think of one person (Anu)...but no one else. My brother even, *(which isn't out of the ordinary)* would much rather hang out with ANY one but me. I keep wondering what's wrong with me...am I not cool enough? Not dumb enough? Not loud enough? What the fuck is it that makes me not enough for my "friends?" I feel like starting over. Wiping my slate clean, so to speak. *sigh* Just re-doing me...I wish it was easier for me to make friends...I wish I had a way to make friends... And yeah, most of this, even to ME sounds whiney...but honestly...try being second choice for everyone you know but your parents...(and sometimes I wonder there)...and tell me you'd sound differently. My brother tells me to get out more, do more things...how can I when I have no one to do anything with?? *exhale* I'm just sick of being the next best thing for everyone. I ..want to be somebody's favorite... I'm going to stop now.
Anyway. What's today? Sunday? And I've got econ. I should make up a schedule and try to make myself do it. Two essays and one MC practice a day. (WHAT A LAUGH!) No. I could do it. Maybe one essay and one MC practice. And half a book. lol. Why not? I've got nothing else to do. blah. Later, -Kelly

04.23.04 (2:19 am) [edit]
time: 12:55 am music: Come What May (original film version) Oh how I love this movie. I'll go a few months or so and forget how much much much I love this movie. mood: in love (with this song *drifts*)
I feel survey-ish. Lets talk about movies...songs...and books, shall we?
How bout...top ten of each. Except lets go in the order that the topic affected me. I.E. which appeared first in my life, or at least, my memory.
Songs! Songs first. Notice how today I listed music before mood? Odd, it is. And telling. (this shall be hard) 1) my favorite song. *sigh* so hard! I'd say my favorite song would have to be something I stop flipping radio stations for...makes me smile/frown/jump around (I'm so talented..look at that rhyme!)...I have to have a number one! I have to! *thinks thinks* Got it! 1) Hotel California, The Eagles ("on a dark desert highway...cool wind in my hair...") 2) Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, The Beatles 3) I Want You, Savage Garden (its getting easier!) (I said that too soon!).... 4) Boys of Summer, the Ataris (Or whatsisface. Don Henley! isn't that awful?) 5) Last Resort, Papa Roach (Sometimes you need that angry music) 6) The Best Thing, Savage Garden 7) Come Undone, Robbie Williams (watch me come undone! They're seeling razor blades and mirrors in the streets...I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep...) 8 ) Butterfly Kisses, Bob Carlisle (I used to just love it...now it makes me cry, but in a good way) 9) California Girls, The Beach Boys (I wish they all could be California Girls...damn right) 10) I Get Around, The Beach Boys
Next, books. Ahh...a love hate love relationship: 1) The first book I ever bought with my own money: Wait Till Helen Comes: A Ghost Story, Mary Downing Hahn. I adored this book. I coveted this book. I read this book 3 times. I still have my copy. 2) The Lovely Bones, Alice Sebold. This book gave me shivers...the kind that you can't tell if they're good or bad. Amazing read. 3) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, J.K. Rowling. The second of the series. The first I was neutral on...but this one scared me, made me laugh, and made me fall in love with the characters. Also, it was the first book in a while I'd read for fun. (am I going to be able to stop at 10??) 4) The Weekend, Peter Cameron. My first foyey into homosexual fiction. Ah, how I love those gay men... There's nothing graphic here at all...just a great character novel (and how I love those). I've re-read this one a few times. 5) The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald. My favorite Character Novel Of All Time. It's a bit different..and for some hard to handle/get in to. But I love this one. :) 6) Bookends, Jane Green. Another lovely character story, including a gay man. (They just make it so much "funner!"). This was such an awesome book to read over vacation during the summer. Loved loved loved it. 7) Frankenstein, Mary Wollstoncraft Shelley. I haven't looked at it in a while, but I know I love it. That poor monster, and no that isn't sarcasm. lol. This is an amazing book, made more amazing by the fact that she was 17 when she wrote it. That's my age. 8 ) Dandelion Wine, Ray Bradbury. *happy sigh* This is the epitome of the coming of age summer time book. I love Bradbury's writing and this one...is a true gem. Some of the best descriptive writing I've ever read. 9) Where the Heart Is, Billie Letts. I loved this book. It was so involving. 10) (the newest as well) The Catcher in the Rye. This is a book like no other I've ever read. It's really quite amazing. (I can stop at 10, but I'll include some others real quick: The other four Harry Potter's, with a huge lean toward Prisoner of Azkaban. Loooove. Candide, my one true satire love (so funny). The truth: I hate all the others I've read. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (not a novel I know. but still a favorite). The Scarlet Letter (ahh...yes I loved this one). and I think that'll do (pig, that'll do). )
movies! Lets see how fast I can do this: 1) Moulin Rouge. for sure and all the way baby. 2) The Lord of the Rings, the Fellowship of the Ring. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this movie. I really cant. It's a lot though. 3) Peter Pan (Disney version). Looove. 4) The Goonies. All time-favorite. One of the first movies I remember watching as a kid, to tell the truth. lol. 5) Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Such a great movie, and I love Cameron. 6) Finding Nemo (that makes Two Disney's!) 7) The Emperor's New Groove. Three Disney's! 8 ) Jurrassic Park. :-D 9) October Sky. Looooove. 10) and we have a tie: Stand by Me and White Christmas.
The movies would go on and on, but its now 2:04 am and I should get some sleep. lol. Good night, all, and dont let the huge mosquito hawks get you, *hugs* -Kelly

My closet exploded again...
04.22.04 (10:25 am) [edit]
time: 9:54 am mood: asleep music: my mom on the phone..."lead singer of my band" on Mtv
I'm STILL sick. It's not as bad as it was...thanks to antibiotics and tons of decongestents. Today...I have to go to school. I haven't been to school in a week or so. But, apparently AP will be actually prepping us for the test (TWO WEEKS) today. *sigh* I'm at one of those "not awake" stages where it's taking energy to breathe. heh.
So I finished reading The Catcher in the Rye yesterday. What an interesting book. O mean, this is like I've never read before. The narrator speaks his mind...and while at times you want to stop reading out of frustration against he and his ideas, it's presented in a realistic fashion. Grammar doesn't really matter...and neither does diction; it's through the mind of a 16 year old guy...some 70 years ago or so. Also, something I like...every far fetched, random thing the narrator says, he backs up by an experience making him feel that way. That's the way we're supposed to write essays I guess. It's a great example of it.
My nose is itchy, it's my period, and I don't want to go to kung fu for an hour and a half tonight. Joy joy joy. :? My room is also a huge, huuuuuge mess (see: title) and I can't find any underwear. This is=bad. I don't understand how this happens! I clean my room...then the laundry is done...and it's like they multiply (my clothes that is) in the wash. Quite a mystery, really.
I need to blow my nose.
My brother is watching S.W.A.T. Ew, Collin Ferril (sp). I'm not his biggest fan...but for some reason I liked Phone Booth. Go figure. You know what I want to see...and this is random...but I want to see Hellboy. I don't know why. I don't remember, but maybe I thought somebody in it was cute. lol. That's why I watched Underworld (Scott Speedman...*drools*...)...ahem.
Also, I really want The Butterfly Effect to come out on video now. Suuch a good movie. The movie that made me not -dislike- Ashton Kutcher immensely anymore. Because...Big Fish has just come out (or will soon?) so I know it was around then...if not before...So...*shrugs* (time passed looking at Amazon)...well, according to Amazon.com it should be out July 6th. Yay! (Big Fish is going to be released on the 27th...okay good to know.) (Hmm...what the hell is happening with "Elf"? That was a good movie...)
I'm finding that I love Queer As Folk. Techincally I've only seen 3 episodes (damn stupid situation: I do not have control over the one tv with Showtime at this time of night (10 pm on) so I can't watch it) so I don't really know...but I like it a lot so far. And not as much nekkidness as I'd thought there'd be! (I'm neutral...lol). It seems to be a good show though, and *pout* I want to watch more of it.
Anyway, I need to go get ready for AP. Joy! Joy joy. :) I'm out, loves, -Kelly

04.16.04 (7:33 pm) [edit]
time: 7:12 pm mood: sick :? music: some bad thriller on tv
I'm sick once again. Really, that's crap. I was just sick, I was just at the doctors... Luckily, since my doctor knows me SO WELL (and he should. I get a sinus infection every 2-6 months) he just wrote me in a perscription and I didn't have to go all the way up to Carmel Valley (phew).
We spent 3 hours at school today. We didn't think we'd spend that long, but teachers are stupid and tell people they can only take tests two at a time. My economics went better than I thought, me being drugged up and all. Also, I was on fire, it was so hot in the computer lab. Eeehhh. :x Somebody open the DAMN windows please, Kelly's head is going to fall off. I did a lot ("") of extra credit work that was available to do on the test, so hopefully my not knowing a lot of those MC's will be covered. heh, I hope anyway...I wrote 5 essay-questions, when all I needed was 3. Whoo, go me.
Uhh, yeah, so then we came home (left the house at 9:45 got back at 2:20 after errands etc. tiired! no sleep last night) and then left the house. again. We went to a late lunch, where I ate too much and nearly made myself sick (half a bowl of soup and half a small salad? wtf?!), then we went to the store (well, I sat in the car...). Then we came home, and I napped from 4:something to 6:49. lol. I'm slightly awake now.
Which is good, cause really, I should do something useful, like finish my 1.25 things to do for economics. Will I? I doubt it. Either I should do that or a multiple choice test. Will I? I doubt it.
Tomorrow is Nicole's birthday party (but not her birthday!). My brother needs to get clothes, and I need to get some sandals for my dress. I also need to get her something else, because I want to. I already have something, but..come on! It's 16. :D *proud*
Um, what else what else...My little Dakota turned 10 (!!!!!!! :o :D !!!!!) yesterday. And really, I mean, yeah. Happy birthday sweety! I remember when you were 3. I'm so horrible with presents though, I really need to ship these...org.
*racks brain* anything else? ooh yeah...
My personality is rated 30.What is yours?quiz by midgetfarm.com
It says I'm the center of attention...Sure I am. Later gators, -Kelly, the Sickie.

It's Easter!
04.11.04 (11:48 pm) [edit]
time: 11:19 pm mood: my mouth hurts. sore? music: I miss you, in my head
So today was Easter. Made me think of a lot of things. I read some of John yesterday (...this morning...) and some of Revelations (until 2:30 am). Got up at about 11:30 this morning, making it 8.5 hours of sleep for me! Best I've had in a while!
Then my family and I decided we were going to go to lunch and then for a drive. So, we went to Red Lobster, where I had lobster and shrimp, and we talked abit about Revelations which was cool. Then, we went for a drive to about 5 miles out side of Julian. We stopped at this huge arts and ..odd things store, then got my mom some Lilac. Then, we drove home with the car smelling oh so lovely! And I fell asleep in the car, then when we got home, took a 45 minute nap (bliss!) then headed up to my uncle's for 2 hours, where these things happened:
I was out of it for a long time, because of my nap 1/2 hour before I drank coffee I had icky green beans I yelled at my 7 year old cousin I played hide and seek with my 2 year old cousin I had wine I had a chocolate covered strawberry I grinned like a dork over when my graduation is to my cousins I talked (gossiped) about family members with cousins and I hugged cousins I rarely see! yay
Then, when we got home we opened our Easter baskets, and we watched a little Jesus of Nazareth and now I'm on here, talking to Sara, and just pondering things.
Neutral thought: I know more atheists than I do Christians.
Yesterday I went to Ross, where I found the prettiest little dress. It was $15 (originally sold for $49). It's white and just the perfect Easter dress. I love it. I had a pretty bad day up until the evening (haha) when my family and I played Uno for 2, count em, two hours, while my mother and I did economics. Hilarity ensued. Not because of the economics. Ahh, I love family togetherness.
The last...36 hours have been fantabulouso, and I'm very much feeling...content...happy...grateful.
Love, -Kelly

Hello There, the Angel from my nightmare
04.09.04 (10:38 pm) [edit]
time: 9:55 pm mood: quiet music: I Miss You
Where are you And I'm so sorry
* It's Friday. Good Friday in fact. Tomorrow I'll be working. In the yard and doing economics.
* I think I may be getting sick. I woke up really late...12:30. Then went back to bed around 3, and got up at 6:20. And I'm still feeling groggy... It's not a great feeling.
* Don't waste your time on me you're already the voice inside my head.
* I want a LiveJournal.
* When is Sims2 coming out? They keep pushing it back.
* I've started the South Beach Diet. Weight Watchers was super easy for me, as I only had to count calories. I could eat whatever I wanted, pretty much. The South Beach Diet...is going to be hard. You can have pretty much as many calories as you want. You can't have: bread, pasta, cereal, crackers, hot dog buns, candy, chips, yogurt, ice cream, muffins, bagels, tortilla's...I've listed things that have in fact affected me. hehe. My brother got Cap'n Crunch Berries today. I was sad. heheh. I know I'm out of control with carbs, and my dad said that the price, etc didn't bother him (he didn't want me doing straight Atkins) so..oi. Today, *exhales*. I don't want to think about the calories I had, but I can tell you I had a little over 20 g of carbs. Had I not had those jelly beans when I woke up, I'd be at 19 g. lol. Jelly beans...mmm...
* My stomach hurts. I can have cheese. I had cheese. I had too much cheese. I feel sick.
* My dad is watching the news, but everytime I get interested he changes the channel. Not knowing of course, but..its kinda funny, in an annoying way.
* The An A [word with an h] thing bugs me. The English language is screwy. An hour. Then I see people write An hole. An hour. A hole. The second, that's obvious. I thought. An host, a host. *shakes head* I'm feeling bitchy,
* I keep grinding my teeth. My jaw hurts. :(
* Kung Fu was fun last night. It was mega group. You have to stand up in front of everyone after an hour of practicing techniques and show the teachers, including the main teacher. Nerve wracking, but I did okay. Yay :)
* My stomach still hurts.
* Jason Mraz sang the National Anthem at the Padres Opener yesterday. I yelled at my tv. Why couldn't the news have told me this...last week? Last month? I SO would have gone. And the Padres won. Probably the only time this season too. *sigh*
* I'm just a curb side prophet with my hand in my pocket and I'm waiting for my rocket to come. Jason Mraz is so seriously underrated.
* I had "Curb Solutions" butter pecan ice cream tonight. It was very yummy.
* I also had liquid vitamins. Not so yummy.
* We got something interesting in the mail on April 2nd. *shit eating grin.* And that's all I have to say about that.
* I think I've non sequitor-ed myself out.
Goodnight, love, -Kells
